If a dog is man's best friend, then a cat is man's furry homicidal roommate.
Cats are a fairly common art subject.
In anime/manga we have the catgirl and her lesser known brother the catboy which feature people with cat eats and tails. Yun Kouga's Loveless being a great example of this. In Loveless all the humans are born with cat ears and a tail that they lose if they lose their virginity. They're just soo darn cute you want to pet them but too much of that and they won't be so cute anymore.
In the furry/anthro community you'll often find people depicted as cats. Say Severus Snape but in cat form. We're willing to ignore the scrapping of the bottom of the artistic barrel that drawing someone as a cat is because OMG KAWAII SNAPE AS A KITTY!
Of course dear reader, you must be asking yourself why DoctorMew Who? What did Ainley!Master do to deserve this?
He landed on an evil semi-intellegent planet hellbent on turning people into Cheetah people in the last Classic Who serial Survival.
No I'm not making that up, that happened, Kitty!Master is canon.
Of course in canon the Doctor doesn't adopt him but instead left him to die on the exploding planet (because the Seventh Doctor was a bit of a douche like that
).
But that's O.K, he'll be fine and return to torment the Doctor in the NA novels.
